New Year locations in Kiev 2019
Starting from December 15, 2018 celebrations will take place on:
- Sofia Square and Vladimirsky Passage (from Mikhailovsky Square to the intersection with Alla Tarasova Street);
- Kontraktovaya Square;
- Sagaydachnogo str. (from Kontraktova Square to the intersection with Andreevskaya Street);
- Upper and Lower Funicular stations;
- Left Bank of Kiev.
Sophia Square – main area of the New Year celebrations!
Traditionally, the main Christmas tree of the country will be installed on the Sofia Square on December 19 at 19:00.
For the first time, “Polar Express” – the train of desires – will be launched on the main Kiev square.

Podil – Kiev historical center
As local proverb says, Kiev is impossible to imagine without Podil (Podol). That is why next New Year location is based directly in the historical heart of Kiev.
The location on Kontraktova Square will be decorated in the style of the Ukrainian artist Maria Priymachenko. Christmas tree will be decorated with stylized toys, special photo zones will be arranged.
On January 7, mass carols singings will be held here and everyone will be treated with kytya – traditional Christmas dish. St. Nicholas residence will be also arranged there.

Winter Land of dreams on the Left Bank of Kiev
A large-scale Christmas and New Year’s art winter project “Land of dreams” will be opened on December 19 at 19:00 on the Left Bank of Kiev.
December 19 – St. Nikolas day celebrations;
December 25 – Catholic Christmas celebrations;
December 31 – New Year’s Eve concert;
January 1 – New Year’s concert;
January 7 – Christmas concert and procession.
December 21 – 25 at 4:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Christmas musical “The Nutcracker: War and Peace”.

First Citrus Festival in Ukraine
Citrus Christmas tree sounds intriguing! You just have to see it on Your own!
First time Citrus Festival will be arranged in Kiev for New Year 2019 celebrations. The festival will be held on the Spivoche pole. Citrus Christmas tree and different castles made from more than 120 tons of oranges and lemons will surely amaze everyone. Among the exhibits are famous buildings from the popular movies and cartoons as Harry Potter, Rapunzel, Aladdin, Robin Hood and many others.
Plus to all, the festival program also offers ice expositions, entrance lemon arches, the residence of the citrus Santa, New Year wishes mail, souvenir shops and dog sledding.
When: December 21, 2018 – January 7, 2019.
Where: 33 Lavrskaya str., Spivoche pole (nearest metro station “Livoberezhna” (red line).
Cost: adults – 100 uah, children – 75 uah.
Transport will be restricted partly on celebration days. Therefore, from November 24 to January 24, 2019 Vladimirskaya street will be partly limited.
Khreschatyk Street will be opened for transport every Saturday, Sunday, public holidays and non-working days.
On New Year’s Eve funicular and the subway in Kiev will be opened for 24 hours a day!
